Hen Ideas
Hen’s nights are a tradition that have been around for a while . They’re an occasion to have some fun and to celebrate the end of being single just before the wedding. Usually its a party with games, killer cocktails, costumes and good food. Don’t feel that it has to be a party though – there are lots of other things you can do.
Now this is important: make sure that the night/activity is held with enough time before the wedding so that everyone’s not worn out on the big day. A hen’s night is usually planned by the brides’ best friends, usually the maid of honor or bridesmaids. Now some girls select a wild night of dancing and slamming shots before they tie the knot. On the other hand, others will totally shun the idea of a rowdy night of drinking in favor of a day-spa with the bridal party – massages, manicures and pedicures, and that sort of stuff.
But the first option is, are you going to put on a party at home or further afield ? ( it may be better to be somewhere where nobody knows you ). For parties held at home, it can be fun to decorate your house with banners, balloons and confetti.
Other ideas:
1) Take everyone out – bride, guests – for a night of pampering at and beauty parlor, or hire a local beauty therapist.
2) Hire a small bus ( or limo! ) to take everyone out for the night, and if you can decorate it up.
3) Take the whole party to a hotel somewhere for a weekend away . Then have some fun with more untraditional activities like clubbing, paint balling or rallying .
4) Dress up – you can be more outrageous in a group and not so embarrassed. Everyone wearing the same outfit will make it easier to keep together if you’re out in a larger crow . Instead of jeans sneakers, dress up as a group of devils, frisky bunnies or angels ? Sometimes just wearing wild wigs is all you need to get rid of inhibitions ( this is where you would go somewhere that you don’t get recognized of course ).
Remember to take:
- Disposable cameras, with flash .
- An autograph book.
- Things for the bide-to-be .
- Vodka or Black Zambucca
Remember to leave behind:
- Inhibitions – they get in the way .
- The future mother-in-law.
- All boyfriends.
- Wedding worries.
